Description

He shattered her life without mercy.
Now she’s bound to him and planning his downfall.

The night the throne was usurped by the wicked emperor, Princess Biyu lost everything. Now she lives as an imprisoned remnant of a dead dynasty. When her half-brother devises a plan to reclaim the throne, Biyu sees a chance to change her fate. But before she can act, she draws the attention of Nikator—the emperor’s most ruthless warrior.

He is merciless, cruel, and loyal to the usurper who stole the crown. And now, he's her personal bodyguard.

Desperate to shake him, Biyu turns to ancient magic. The spell was meant to drive him away. Instead, it binds them together in a cursed, unbreakable marriage.

She didn’t mean to tie her fate to a monster.
And he certainly didn’t ask to be chained to a prisoner.

Now locked in a union neither of them wanted, Biyu is thrust into a life of secrets and sabotage—spying for her brother, plotting against the throne, and doing everything she can to avoid Nikator’s suspicion. But the longer they are bound, the harder it becomes to separate hatred from heat, and vengeance from the pull of something deeper.

She came to reclaim power.
But in a palace ruled by blood and lies, the most dangerous enemy may be the one who stands beside her.

In a world where loyalty is lethal and love is a curse, surrendering her heart could cost her everything.

Serpent Prince is a standalone novel and the second installment in the Drakkon series. It can be read alone, but for a better reader experience, it’s best to read the series in order. Serpent Prince is perfect for fans of enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, and wickedly beautiful villains.

Popular Quotes

Right as she touched the ornate handle, Nikator’s hand snaked forward. The rough callouses on his hand brushed against her soft skin, and he clamped down on her wrist painfully. She inhaled sharply, turning to him with wide eyes.

“What are you doing?” she said, trying to yank away from him, but he held on too firmly.

He stepped forward, and she backed away until her back was pressed against her door. He twisted her wrist and pinned it against the wall above her head, despite her struggle to free herself, and with a flash of steel, she felt the point of a knife pressed against her neck. She stilled. This time, Nikator’s smile almost seemed genuine; his eyes sparkled, and if it wasn’t for the blade on her neck, she would have thought he was about to tell her something funny.

“Now, Princess,” he murmured, his voice dropping an octave, “what was written in the note the prince gave you?”

Biyu licked her suddenly dry lips. He couldn’t have seen much. It was only … the fact that she had undressed that was inappropriate. Her night robes were modest enough and the lighting was dim enough that the outline of her curves shouldn’t have been visible. And yet he was staring at her, alert and very much not sleep-laden, as if he had caught a glimpse of something more

He leaned forward, his hands on his knees. His voice came out gruff and laced with the last remnants of sleep. “You really shouldn’t be undressing in front of me like that. It’s distracting.”

            “You’re … you’re supposed to be asleep.”

            “I was.”

“This standalone Romantasy features an FMC, Biyu, who is trying to find her place and find herself in the midst of chaos and societal limitations, and the MMC, Nik, who is the epitome of touch-her-and-die. Biyu and Nik have a fantastic enemies-to-lovers story that is a whirlwind from beginning to end. This story has magic, castle intrigue, deception, and a few other fun surprises.” - Queso Raven, Goodreads

“This was an incredible enemies to lovers book! I loved the story telling, the tension, and the characters!! I read this book first before reading the first in the series and I honestly loved it this way! The author writes in an engaging way and I highly recommend it!! I am in LOVE with the heavy Asian-inspired historical culture and food. Being Asian myself, it is so nice to see representation in this riveting, political romance!! The elements of fantasy were well written and the PLOT IS INSANE!!! Highly recommend!!” -Kennedy, Goodreads

“This is the second book I've read by this author, and their writing is amazing. I finished the book in almost two days, completely breathless. The storytelling is so smooth that I never felt tired while reading. I was very curious about how the princess's story would continue. The dialogues were beautiful and exciting. I think everyone should read it.” - Yasemin, Goodreads
